Aman Group built its reputation on ultra-private, design-led hotels long before it started attaching its name to private homes. Its newer Janu brand takes a livelier, more social approach than the classic Aman properties, and that identity carries directly into Janu Al Marjan Island, a waterfront resort and residential tower on Ras Al Khaimah's Al Marjan Island. Designed by Singapore-based SCDA Architects, the development pairs a 132-key hotel with a dedicated residential tower offering one to five-bedroom Janu Residences, alongside a small number of standalone villas. Owners get full access to the resort itself, which is the real difference between buying into a project like this and buying an apartment from a developer with no hospitality background at all.
Life inside the development centres on the Janu Wellness Centre, which includes a full gym, a yoga studio, a traditional hammam, and a banya, alongside a private stretch of beach and a resort pool. Residents can also use the Beach Club, two signature restaurants, a mixology bar, and an evening social venue, plus a dedicated Kids' Club for families staying longer term. The whole setup reflects Janu's positioning around shared, sociable living rather than pure seclusion, a noticeably different pitch from the quieter luxury Aman Group built its original hotel brand on. For buyers drawn to that particular mix of privacy and community, Aman Group's move into residential development gives them a way to own into it permanently rather than booking a stay.
